  So glad I resisted the temptation for such a long time whenever I started my favourite Bay Trail walk here - to look up online why this suburb was named Black Rock instead of Red Bluff after the stunning iron oxide cliffs nearby.. Finally got to visit the place that held the answer..You can't miss the location - massive majestic Moreton Bay Figs & signage is highly visible on Ebden Ave.
  
  What a magnificent home it is! Kudos to the Friends of Black Rock volunteers who meet & greet visitors in period costume & with abundance of good humour

  We had intended on using the community gardens infront of Black Rock House for a small picnic with friends when we were approached by a staff member advising we needed to have booked and paid to use the park!?
  The staff member then came back a second time and threatened to call the council on us unless we gave a 'donation' of $200 to Black Rock House right away. Appaulled a community centre would try to blackmail locals, horrendous! Let alone take supposedly council own money for their own pockets.
  Will certainly not be going back for a tour of the house with staff like that! Steer clear all.
  To make matters worse I then found out you only have to register for groups of 50 or more, not for a small picnic celebrating a baby shower with 15 people! Was so shocked someone would try to upset a heavily pregnant women celebrating with a few friends.

  Lovely time visiting the house.
  A very interesting history.
  It was smaller than we would have expected, and lot of furniture, items etc don't originally belong to the house, but very interesting none the less, and will put together, with their own stories!
  Friendly helpful and very well informed 'staff' dressed as in the day, with wonderful stories, including tantalising ghost stories!
  There's also a paranormal tour you can take at night, or book in for a seance!!!

  Poor contacts. Need to update your site with correct visiting times... People there not helpful at all. Poor effort for the place of history that is supposed to be available for public viewing.
